Jenny heading home soon

This is an excerpt from Jenny's Dad:

``We are also in final stages of basic nursing and rehab procedures and have already had Jen home for overnight stay. The next step is for extended stays and then home for good, a move which we are eagerly looking forward to … and so is Jenny.I ncidently, all this activity plus the purchasing of specialized equipment has been made possible by the generosity of so many wonderful people through the Jenny McKenna Foundation and I encourage you to visit the web site and check out some of the fund raising efforts (thejennymckennafoundation.com.au).

In my last update I referred to the next fund raiser on 22nd August at Bondi Icebergs which is being organized by the BRATs, Jenny’s first triathlon club. I enclose a flyer with details which also appear on the web site.

The very enthusiastic and energetic BRAT members have put together a great night of food, refreshment and conviviality which hopefully you and/or your friends will enjoy.

You will notice some of the many great prizes to be had on the night but the latest addition is a beauty. Probably all in the Triathlon Community and many in the wider community will know of Loretta Harrop the silver medallist at the Athens Olympics just being pipped on the post so to speak. This gracious lady has donated her time and effort to write a six month training schedule which also includes a weekend hands on session with Loretta at her Gold Coast venue and yes, air fares to and from the Gold Coast are included! A great prize for some lucky Triathlete!

Our extensive research into the many problems faced by people with brain injury and their families have led us to the decision to have Jenny at home. However the object of the exercise is not just to care for but to intensify the rehab process and it appears this may be enhanced by bringing her into a loving, caring environment.''
