X-Tri Australia has opened entries for the 2006 Seaspray-Rydges Capricorn Half Ironman Triathlon, round two of the 2006 Snap Australian Half Ironman Triathlon Series.

The race will commence at Rydges Capricorn Resort at 8:00am on August 13th, 2006, with 7h30m allowed for those looking to qualify for the 2007 Panthers Ironman Australian Triathlon at Port Macquarie.

Note that this event is also the Queensland Long Distance Championships, AND the final selection race for Triathlon Australia for qualifying into the Australian Team for the 2006 Long Distance Triathlon World Championships in Canberra, November 2006.

Organiser, X-Tri Australia, has also been granted an increase to 100 qualifying slots for those competitors looking to race Ironman Australia in 2007!

The 2006 entry fee is set at $180-00, in line with all new season Half Ironman, but all initiatives from 2005 will remain, including the "Half Ironman Golf Day" the Monday following the race, plus creche facilities for all functions and through the week leading into the race...
