From the New York Times (the race was yesterday):
When the men’s race was down to four contenders, Abdirahman, a native of Somalia who became an American citizen in 2000, was one of them. Then, at 22 miles, he said he made “a little mistake.”
“I went to get water, and they didn’t,” he said. “I looked up, and they had 20 meters on me, and at that speed I couldn’t make it up.”
So what did he do? “I started drinking the water,” he said.
