Yeppoon Has 85 IM Spots

There are 85 spots available for Port Mac 2006 at Yeppoon on Sunday with 448 competitors including two High Five sponsored athletes, Mel McDonald and Sarah Fien.

The women's race may be the most interesting. The top seed is NSW's Melissa Ashton, the first Aussie woman home at Forster this year. Also racing is Canberra's Fien, winner of the 2005 Ironman Japan, and Western Australia's Angela Milne.

Of course, a more familiar competitor is Mel from the BRATs. Rebecca Coulter, Sarah Pollett and Melissa Vanderwater also were expected to be at the starting line, organizers said last week.
