Mark Allen has a few thoughts on nutrition that might be of interest for those of you having some race day issues.
*Allen says he experienced nausea in 11 of the 12 Kona races he did
He links the reason to the difference in what the lab recommends for intake and what a person can digest during the intensity of the race - adding that you can TRAIN your body to absorb more calories and more fluid
He also thinks that pre-race carbo loading is "old school" and that all you need to do is eat fairly normal in the three days leading to race day, perhaps with a bit more of a focus on carbs and eating a little extra.
