M-Dot WA

Ironman WA is set to begin at 6am Sunday and promises an exciting day.

On the pro women's side, there are Lisa Marangon and Charlotte Paul - both looking for their first wins at this level. Both Lisa and Charlotte have showed good form in the past few weeks.

They'll have a bit of competition from Angela Milne (who won last year) and Jo King as well as Switzerland's Lisbeth Kristensen. The women will be fighting it out for one qualifying slot for Kona.

As for the pro men, Mitch Anderson is looking to retain his title. He'll be challenged by Luke Bell and Jason Shortis. There are three slots available for the men.

Among Team High5 Multisport athletes, John, Thomas, Mark and Grace will be on the starting line. Other competitors include John Mergler and Stephen Firth - they simply can't resist entering a race.

The event has attracted 850 competitors from 33 countries. The are 26 qualifying slots for age groupers.
