Belinda Granger has held tough for a sensational win at Port Macquarie Ironman 70.3 in a time of 4:35:55 with Lisa Marangon, recovering from a car crash just a week ago, 300 metres behind her and taking second in a time of 4:36:26.

Angie Sharp was the leading female from the water but behind her Charlotte Paul, Belinda Granger and Lisa Marangon all exited within 20 metres of each other.
A fiercely determined Granger forged a lead in the bike leg she was not to concede and she continued to move ahead of her challengers throughout the 90kms.
Marangon moved into second, with Sharp slipping to third and Paul in fourth.
Into the run Granger looked strong but late in the race was put under pressure by Marangon, who came within 300 metres at the finish line!
“Forget my race, Lisa had an awesome race here today, I’m just amazed she even started after the car accident,” added Granger, mentioning her friend was involved in a major accident just one week before the race.
It was for Marangon an emotional second place but she was sure happy with the result.
